St.Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's day is celebrated on March 17th because that is the feast of St.Patrick, the saint of Ireland. It is believed that St.Patrick died on March 17, 461 AD. It is celebrated around the globe. St.Patrick was born in 385 AD, along the west coast of Britain. The Irish believe that he drove the snakes out of Ireland.
There are 3 colors that the Irish wear which are orange, green, and white. The orange is for the protestant population, the green represents Ireland, and the white is peace between the two.
St. Patrick was kidnapped at the age of 16 and was sent to Ireland, after 7 years he went back to Britain but a voice told him to go back to Ireland. He went back and became the priest even though he was harassed by the Irish Royalty. On St.Patrick's Day people like to celebrate by making parades.
